Cello Mania — Program Notes 

Paganini and Martinů stand like two pillars on either side of this concert, both drawing from Rossini’s famous theme. Paganini’s variations dazzle with virtuoso brilliance, while Martinů’s reimagining sparkles with color and wit.

Between these bookends lie Piatti’s vibrant Tarantella, Fauré’s deeply expressive Élégie, and Chopin’s powerful G minor sonata. Together, they form a bridge from operatic drama to Romantic song, balancing fireworks with lyricism.
