Cello Mania — Program Notes 

At the heart of this program is Rossini’s melody, refracted through two very different lenses: Paganini’s flamboyant showpiece and Martinů’s witty, modern reinterpretation. These “pillars” frame the evening with both virtuosity and imagination.

Between them, Piatti’s Tarantella bursts with vitality, Fauré’s Élégie sings with poignant lyricism, and Chopin’s sonata offers depth and grandeur. The result is a journey through passion, elegance, and expressive power.
